The Secondary School of Arts and Crafts (ESMA)
The Hermann Gmeiner Secondary School of Arts and Crafts (ESMA) is a technical secondary school offering arts courses recognized by the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Training and Youth Integration. It offers several programs, such as visual arts and music, etc.
Admission is based on the C.E.P. or BEPC exams. The diplomas that can be obtained are: the CAP and DT in arts and crafts science and technology.
Students who attend ESMA have a very good chance of finding employment after graduation. The arts and crafts technicians trained at ESMA include :
- Visual arts: stylist, pattern maker, decorator, computer graphics designer, illustrator, textile art technician, graphic designer, visual arts teacher, and illustrator.
- Music: sound technician, computer-assisted music technician, choir director, instrumentalist, composer, music teacher, and singer.
Tuition fees are 150,000 CFA francs per year. ESMA has a boarding school with an annual cost of 350,000 CFA francs.
